Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-30
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, such as your name and email address. We also collect the documents you upload and information generated when PlainlyOS analyzes them.
We may collect basic usage and analytics information to operate and improve the Service. The specific analytics tools we use will be documented here before launch [ANALYTICS — TO BE REVIEWED].
2. Documents You Upload
Documents you upload are associated with your account. PlainlyOS uses access controls intended to prevent other PlainlyOS users from accessing another user's documents. This is user-to-user isolation; it is not a guarantee that no administrator, infrastructure provider, or authorized service provider could ever technically access document information.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service, to communicate with you about your account, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your documents.
4. AI and Automated Processing
Document information may be processed using automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to analyze, summarize, identify important information, perform calculations, and generate outputs. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete.
5. Service Providers
PlainlyOS relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate. Service providers may assist with hosting, storage, authentication, document processing, artificial intelligence processing, security, and communications. Where analytics apply, providers may also assist with analytics. Uploaded information may be processed by these service providers as necessary to provide the Service; it is not accurate to state that uploaded information never leaves PlainlyOS's own systems.
7. Document Storage and Retention
PlainlyOS attempts to minimize the information it retains. Documents are stored associated with your account and may be processed by automated/AI systems and service providers as necessary to provide the Service.
Deletion through the available application controls removes information that PlainlyOS can delete through those controls. Platform-managed backups, deletion queues, storage systems, or retention mechanisms may result in residual copies remaining for some period. PlainlyOS does not claim immediate cryptographic destruction unless and until that can actually be guaranteed.
8. Deleting Your Information
You can delete your saved documents and associated PlainlyOS data through the controls in your account. Deletion removes the application-level records PlainlyOS can delete. Because of platform-managed storage, backups, and retention mechanisms described above, residual copies may remain for some period afterward. PlainlyOS does not claim that deleting a document immediately and permanently destroys every copy.
9. Security
PlainlyOS uses access controls intended to protect user information, including controls intended to prevent other PlainlyOS users from accessing another user's documents. No system is perfectly secure, and PlainlyOS does not guarantee the security of your information.
PlainlyOS is not end-to-end encrypted or zero-knowledge, and PlainlyOS does not represent that administrators, infrastructure providers, or authorized service providers can never technically access document information.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under [MINIMUM AGE]. We do not knowingly collect information from children as described in this Policy. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.
12. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as access, correction, or deletion. How to exercise these rights will be described here before launch [U.S. STATE RIGHTS — TO BE REVIEWED].
13. International Users
PlainlyOS's infrastructure is located in the United States by default. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States. Data residency options, if available, depend on the plan [DATA RESIDENCY — TO BE REVIEWED].
14. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make the updated version available and, where appropriate, require you to accept the new version before continuing to upload documents.
15. Contact Information
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact PlainlyOS at [CONTACT EMAIL], [MAILING ADDRESS].
